At The Rescue at Flathat Ranch, we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming misunderstood horses facing behavioral challenges or a lack of training—horses often overlooked due to fear, frustration, or miscommunication.
Through patient, relationship-based methods rooted in natural horsemanship, we focus on building trust, confidence, and clear communication between horse and human.
Our mission is not only to help horses find a second chance but to ensure they are matched with partners who are committed to continuing the language of connection we’ve established—creating lasting, respectful bonds and brighter futures for both horse and human. -
The rescue, rehabilitation, and care of misunderstood, untrained, and abandoned horses.
Promoting responsible equine care and welfare.
Educating the public about horse rescue, training, and rehabilitation.

Emmie
Emmie is a 3 year old registered Arabian mare. She came to us with very little handling, and not much exposure to life outside of a stall. In the short time she has been with us she has already calmed down a ton, started to learn her basics of leading, round pen work, getting used to being touched, and also taking time to learn how to exist with other horses and enjoy more space to run around. We look forward to watching her progress in her training, learn to be calm and confident, and to put on a bit more weight!
Adoption fee: $2000

Cricket
Cricket is a 6 year old Arabian mare who looks to have had a pretty rough start to her life. She comes to us with signs of some previous injuries, but appears to be living comfortably despite the scars and bumps. So far Cricket seems to be pretty friendly and calm, but we still need to evaluate her training level and learn her personality better. As she progresses through training, we will also be keeping a close eye on her old injuries to make sure that she is staying sound and is capable of continuing to progress.
Adoption fee: $2000

Gus
Gus is a 5 year old John mule. He is a bit timid and nervous of people, but is coming around. He is very smart and learns quickly. He needs an experienced mule person who knows how to continue his training. He knows his groundwork and has started on packing. He has not started any training under saddle.
Adoption fee: $2000
